Day 10 - Post Surgery 9 Days

New and exciting news of the day! I slept in socks, in bed, under the covers and my feet didn't hurt! YEA! I'm naturally a stomach sleeper so I thought it would be uncomfortable and my husband can have very restless legs so I was really worried he was going to kick me and some point. We decided to stick a pillow between my husband's and my feet under the covers. AND IT WORKED!

I also had my boots off my feet quite a bit today and spent some time wiggling my toes and arching my feet. Boy are they tight! I am trying to be very careful not to overdo it, since I had that "accident" the other day.

Other than that I did my normal morning work out and put in another 8 hr day from the couch. I am getting stronger and less tired each day. I think all the meds are finally getting out of my system. I have found that I still can't stand very long as the pressure kind of gets bothersome and I figure that's a sign to not over do it.

Today's pic is of my new feet in socks! :)

  1. Your feet look so good. They don't look swollen or anything. I can't tell anything on how swollen mine are or not. I just see the two tips of my toes, so I'm curious next Tuesday what they look like when he re-wraps them. I'm with you on the sleeping part being a stomach sleeper myself. And you are once again bringing me hope that sleep will come again (smile) What do you do for your job? When do you return to the office? Are you worried about returning or looking forward to it? You can't drive for a while so i'm assuming your home working until then, but thought I'd ask. Did you notice any difference in your feet after you walked the dogs a few houses down?

  3. Whew long day! Just getting to my blogging. Julie, my feet have not been very swollen this week at all. Kind of just from the incision area through my toes a little bit. I am sleeping really well now. I took an Aleve again last night and that really just takes the edge off of the aches for me. I am a project manager in corporate properties, so I manage building remodels, new construction, etc. I am planning to go back for a couple of days after Thanksgiving, then three days for the next two weeks and full time the week after my boots are off. I enjoy working from home, but I also like working at work. I only live 5 minutes from my office so it is very convenient. My husband will have to drive me to/from for those partial weeks before I get my boots off. When I walked 1/2 down the block it wasn't an issue. I took my time. I am more tired again the more I do each day.

Sara, thanks! I appreciate you getting us going. It is very convenient for me to go back and review your posts as a gauge to what's happening to me.

  4. Deb, laughing because I am also a project manager, but for a financial service company. My focus is on implementation. After our sales team makes a sale then I build the team of experts and work directly with the customer to implement the product or service. See I knew I connected with you a little too much (smile). My customers are located throughout the US so that's why I can work from home full time. The one thing is that means I always have things coming in from the west coast to the east coast given the time change. I do love what I do and work with such wonderful people which is an extra bonus.
